Distance Covered: 50km (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

I got talked into doing my first Merida Marathon on the mountain bike. Arrived on Saturday evening so to get a good night sleep.
About 1100 people left Builth Wells at 10am quite a sight.
I was doing the 50km route doesn't seem that far but hell it was a long way on the day.
The trails were really good in most places but some of the sections in the woods had really slippery roots which weren't much fun.
I really started to struggle for the last 10km but I wasn't the onlyone lots of people pushing for the last up hill part!
I think it was the heat that made if so difficult for me I managed to drink nearly 9lts of fluid and pee'd only once all day
A really good day but really hard too managed a time of just under four and a half hours for the 50km, just shorter than some first riders completeing the 100km!

I'm going to wear my finishers Tshirt with pride
